Fast Fashion Free

Our fashion industry is unsustainable, we consume a huge number of clothes, many of which are wasted. In fact, every year, 80 billion items of clothing are purchased globally, and 10,000 items of clothing go to landfill every five minutes. It takes around 1800 litres of water to make just one cotton shirt and yet people still treat them as disposable. The fashion industry is hugely polluting, both of the air and the atmosphere. You can help tackle this problem with some of the following projects:

Swap shop

Swap shop is an event to raise awareness about the environmental impact of fast fashion and  make fashion a more cyclical process. Encourage pupils to bring in their unwanted clothes to swap them for clothing they like.

Fast Fashion Free February

Fast Fashion Free February (FFFF) is a month in which pupil make pledges to show their opposition to the fashion industry. Pledges could be from wearing only one or two outfits a week, to not buying any new clithes for the month.
